If You Were Me And Lived In Norway



“So now you see, if you were me, how life in Norway could really be.”


If You Were Me and Lived in…Norway is another entry in the educational “If You Were Me and Lived In…” book series. It takes young readers on a journey to Norway, with a map in the beginning that shows its location in Northern Europe, and colorful illustrations depicting Norwegian boys and girls.

This non-fiction series awakens an appreciation and hunger for history in young readers. Not only are readers entertained and educated, but also build their vocabulary with words from each particular culture.

If You Were Me and Lived in…Norway exposes readers to the geographical and cultural aspects of living in “ The Land of the Midnight Sun.” From seeing Aurora Borealis (the northern lights in the winter sky) to staying in the Kirkenes Hotel (a building made out of snow and ice) readers will be exposed to exceptional aspects of this beautiful and unique country.

As in the other books of the series, names of boys and girls (such as Bjorn and Birgitte) currency (kroner) cultural foods (smorbrod) and sports (snowmobiling and icefishing) are described.

It’s essential to teach our children about the different cultures, beliefs, and environments our world is made up of. This book provides the perfect opportunity to gain at glimpse of life in Norway.

Some names or words, such as Gunnar (g-UH-n-er) and Kirkenes (Kir-ke-nes) may be new to young readers, so the pronunciation page in the back of the book is helpful.

This series is recommended for young explorers who are curious about the world around them. The engaging and edifying books make unique gifts and constructive additions to any child’s bookshelf.
