The Beautiful Garden of Eden

The Beautiful Garden of Eden, written by Gary Bower and illustrated by Barbara Chotiner, is the latest book in the Faith that God Built series. It’s an entertaining, rhyming story of Adam and Eve and the Garden of Eden, and how sin entered the world.

Do you remember the childhood classic, The House that Jack Built, with the repeated cadence as previous lines are added to each new line? This style is reminiscent of that. It’s fun to read, and keeps children’s interest.

Example:
“This is the Garden of Eden.
These are the trees that swayed in the breeze in the beautiful Garden of Eden.”
Then the story continues to build with expressive and memorable rhymes…

The final page lets the reader know that the full story of the Garden of Eden is told in Genesis 1-3 of the Bible, and also includes a verse in Galatians that reveals how Christ rescued us from sin.

This is an extraordinary, educational book for children ages 4-7. This one is definitely going on my keeper shelf.
