Dance of the Winnebagos

by Ann Charles
Romantic Mystery
The Jackrabbit Junction Mystery Series

Description from Goodreads:
When Claire's grandfather and his army buddies converge in the Arizona desert, it's her thankless job to keep them out of trouble with the opposite sex. But when she finds a human leg bone and partners with a reluctant geotechnician to dig up secrets from the past, trouble finds her. She's losing her heart. Worse, if she doesn't stop digging, she could lose her life.

In Dance of the Winnebagos, the first book in The Jackrabbit Junction Mystery Series, Claire agrees to go with her grandfather to an RV park in Jackrabbit Junction, Arizona. While Gramps and his hilariously crass old Army buddies play cards and chase skirts, Claire gets herself into several precarious (and even life-threatening situations.

She befriends Ruby, the RV park owner with financial woes and a defiant teenage daughter, and ends up working for her--doing odd jobs in the General store and around the grounds.

One day, while out with Gramps' dog, she stumbles across a leg bone that might be human. Her search for clues leads her into trouble, including a locked shed and old abandoned mines.

Mac, Ruby's hot nephew, who is in town helping his aunt with legal issues, gets tangled in Claire's mess, as well as her pants. Ooh-La-La, that's when this fabulous concoction gets spicy!

Pros: This humorous story is a mix of romance, adventure and mystery. The perfect recipe for a delicious read.

Cons: Can't think of any!

Overall:  The dynamic crew of characters gives hours of entertainment. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
