“A vast world of creatures surrounds us, evidencing a creator who filled the world with the wonders of his imagination.” ~ Quote from the introduction.
Rather than the usual glossy cover most adult coloring books have, Wonders of Creation has a matte textured finish, with glossy colorful imprinted decorative accents. It’s a lovely cover, and the nonglossy finish allows you to color in the cover design, which makes every cover truly unique.
Wonders of Creation, by Zondervan, is a 10 x 10” (approximate) 96-page paperback of black and white drawings portraying this incredible world God created. The nature-inspired line drawings are fun and playful, free of any descriptions, quotes, or verses. The two-page introduction is a nice addition, describing how inspiration for the book came from the wonders of God’s creation.
Many of the pages have quite a bit of white space, which might be appealing to some, but I prefer to have full-page spreads, with most, if not all of the space easily colorable. That’s not to take away from the lovely artistry, but just a small note to my preference.
This coloring book is suitable for all kinds of coloring utensils—pencils, gel pens, markers, or crayons. The thick pages provide protection from bleed-through, and the drawings have intricate, as well as larger, easier to fill designs for thicker crayons.
We live in a beautiful world, and these coloring pages depict it nicely. The illustrations are young and playful, therefore suited for almost any age.
