Courting Mr. Emerson

Courting Mr. Emerson is a charming opposites-attract story.I believe it is the first non-Christmas story I’ve read by Melody Carlson. I’ve enjoyed each of her holiday tales and her lighthearted writing style.

Quirky is a good way to describe this book. Showcasing more of a friendship than a romance, this is a fast-reading character-driven story. George and Willow are interesting and a bit odd, and I like that they are middle aged. The spiritual thread is cohesive and makes sense.

I love the cover art and the peculiar characters, but still prefer Ms. Carlson’s Christmas tales.
