Reducing High Blood Pressure for Beginners (cookbook)

Image
These recipes certainly aren't lacking anything just because they're fashioned those with high blood pressure. Geared toward those recently diagnosed with HBP, the book is very informative concerning choices and daily routines that can help your numbers improve and to live a healthier life. It explains what HBP is, it's causes, and its effects and risks (as well as some other goodies.) It also focuses on helpful lifestyle changes--what foods to eat, what foods to avoid, etc... then you get into the yummy recipes! I don't have high blood pressure, but Hubby does, and I don't feel like I'm giving anything up by preparing and eating these recipes. The ingredients are everyday common ingredients, and the recipes are simple. Source: I received a complimentary copy from Callisto Publisher’s Club. I was under no obligation to post a review.

Too Pregnant to Move: A Pregnancy Journal

Image
This journal is hilarious! I've gotten a few giggles out of it already, and I've only skimmed through each section. My daughter-in-law is expecting and I think she'll really enjoy this! I enjoy the lighthearted feel of this book and the humorous anecdotes, advice, and information. This is a fun way to document thoughts, events, photos, and feelings through some of the most exciting and life-changing months of your life. ★★★★ ★ Source: I received a complimentary copy from Callisto Publisher's Club. The 5-Minute Anxiety Relief Journal: A Creative Way to Stop Freaking Out

Image
I have a family member who deals with anxiety and I think she'll benefit from this creative journal. She gets distracted easily, so the 5-minute prompts are simple and easy. I like how the journal-er is prompted to look back and things they wrote and find common themes, or other unexpected patterns. There are plenty of lined pages for writing out thoughts and concerns and several quotes and memes to encourage you as you make your way through each chapter. ★★★★ Source: I received a complimentary copy from Callisto Publisher's Club. This is a cute coloring and activity book for young girls. It includes word searches, connect the dot puzzles, mazes, spot the differences, etc. providing hours of fun. Aside form the fun puzzles and activities, the coloring pages are pretty and detailed. I really like the sturdy pages aren't see-through, so it allows coloring on both sides without bleed-through. ★★★★ Source: I received a complimentary copy from Callisto Publisher's Club. Once Upon a Sunset

Image
I was first introduced to Tif Marcelo’s writing earlier this year by her wonderful story of the de la Rosa sisters in  The Key to Happily Ever After ! So, when I received an ARC copy of her newest book (Release date: March 3, 2020) I couldn’t wait to begin reading! Once Upon a Sunset  is told from the perspectives of Margo and Diana. This dynamic mother daughter duo carries a complex yet dear authenticity. They reveal their strengths in nearly opposite ways, which causes a slight chasm in their relationship. Margo (mother) is a free spirit with a positive attitude who sometimes buries her emotions in hopes they won’t resurface. Diana is an active professional and an independent go-getter who often battles over following her heart or her head. I like each of these women and can put myself in both of their shoes, but strangely enough, I connect with Diana on a deeper level (even though I’m more like Margo.) I love the changes Diana experiences throughout the story and how sh

Misleading Miss Verity

Image
Once again, I delve into the Daughters of Ansley series! (Book #3.)  I had hoped the next book would center on Verity and I’m so pleased it did.  Misleading Miss Verity   is my favorite thus far, mainly due to Verity’s spunky and vibrant personality. As in the previous books, Verity, (the most interesting sister, in my opinion) adds a refreshing spark to the book. And Anthony has a dear heart and is a good match for her.   I really enjoyed and could picture the Scotland setting, and the wonderful wit throughout the story emitted a special warmth. This Regency entertained and wooed me, and I look forward to reading more of Ms. Miller’s work. Grand Finale & Giveaway - Home for Christmas

Image
On Tour with Prism Book Tours We hope you enjoyed the tour! If you missed any of the stops you'll find snippets, as well as the link to each full post, below: Launch - Note from the Author Home for Christmas was pure Joy for me—in every chapter and word. I was thrilled when my editors gave me the green light to write this, the first Christmas story set in Indian Lake. I certainly hope it’s not the last for my beloved characters. This story is especially dear to me because it’s cut right out of my life. In my hometown of La Porte, Indiana, there was a magical all-glass greenhouse just like the one Joy Boston inherits. From my earliest memories of Christmas, visits to the Bernacchi Greenhouse to choose the right poinsettias for aunts and friends was practically part of my DNA. For decades, even when I moved out of town and lived in big cities and foreign countries, Christmas memories always began in those greenhouses. . . Cover Lover Book Review - Review "

My Bedtime Bible Prayers

Image
My Bedtime Bible Prayers   is so sweet. It teaches young readers/listeners biblical principles, such as thinking of someone other than yourself, being grateful, forgiving others, etc.  The subjects are simple and brief but make an impact. They open with a title, a verse, illustrations, and a sweet, thoughtful prayer. My favorite part is the question posed at the close of each section, causing the reader to apply what he or she has learned to their everyday life. These prayers guide youngsters in biblical values, encourages them to express their hearts with God, and to make Bible reading a nightly ritual. There is a cute presentation page at the beginning of the book for gift-giving. ★★★★★ Author: Karoline Pahus Pedersen Illustrator: Gavin Scott Publisher: Kregel Publishing Target Age: 6-8 Pages: 96 Source: I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and was under no obligation to post a positive review.

Ultimate Trivia, Volume 1

Image
I have always loved trivia. I'm not always good at it, but the process of questions and answers is exciting and fun. Another aspect of trivia that I enjoy is learning. This book of over 800 questions and answers provides a wonderful learning opportunity in the following subjects: * US and World History * Arts and Literature * Food and Drink * Animals and Nature The answer key is in the back of the book so you won't accidentally see the answers before you intend to.
