Can a magical Christmas under glass…

…bring them back together for good?

Widowed dad Adam Masterson still doesn’t understand why Joy Boston left Indian Lake and broke his heart all those years ago. Now she’s returned to sell her grandfather’s beloved poinsettia greenhouse—and Joy and Adam’s connection is as strong as ever. But Joy has a life in New York. And Adam has only until Christmas to convince Joy that she belongs in Indian Lake—with him.

My Review:
Oh how I love the joyous Christmas spirit. Home for Christmas stirs that spirit, and has me yearning for the holidays.

Joy and Adam have a history in Indian Lake, but she left it long ago after painful events in her life made it too difficult to remain there. Adam stayed in Indian Lake and did the best he knew how, making a life for himself with the townsfolk that became his makeshift family. When their paths meet up again, they’re both a little surprised that the sparks, the dreams, and the emotions they once shared still remain.

I love the small town of Indian Lake. The townsfolk are charming and add so much to the story. I sympathized with Joy and the loss of her grandfather. I understood how the guilt of not visiting him more would hurt and overwhelm her. I also sympathized with Adam. He endured so much without a family to lean on after tragedy strikes. I rooted for them to both find peace and comfort. But my favorite character in this story is young Titus. Wow, what a character. He is as lovable as a big fuzzy dog—clumsy, charming, and completely irresistible.

I absolutely loved the setting, too! The poinsettia greenhouses anchor this story with their potential and fascinating, town-edifying history. Grandfather Frank’s dreams are renewed, and his memory is revived in a surprising and sweet way. Home for Christmas infused me in the spirit of Christmas and satisfied me with its ending.

First Line: Joy stood at her large office window, watching the Christmas decorating below.

  11. Sounds like a unique story line. Did you have to do much research on growing poinsettas? Plants come for hospice care at my house.

  12. Indian Lake sounds like a beautiful setting for a book. We have a lot of Indian names for streets and towns in Ohio.
