Q1. WHEN WE TALK ABOUT DIY SKINCARE, ARE YOU SAYING THAT WE NEED TO GET RID OF OUR NORMAL SKINCARE AND REPLACE IT WITH DIY?
No. The beauty of the DIY formulas in Face Value is that you can use them in isolation or in conjunction with your normal skin care. Skin care is a personal thing and while I know you can look after your skin very effectively with natural ingredients, many people prefer to pour it out of a bottle.
It doesn't have to be one or the other, we can always give our skincare an extra boost with powerful natural ingredients. For example in winter your skin may be a little drier than normal and you can add a couple of drops of carrot oil into your daily moisturiser to give you the extra nutrients your skin needs. You will also be giving your skin a good dose of vitamin A at the same time, which is key to building collagen.
Q2. WHY DO YOU BELIEVE YOU DON’T NEED TO SPEND A LOT OF MONEY ON GOOD SKINCARE?
One of the greatest misconceptions is that you need to spend a lot of money on high-end brands for you to get the skin results you are looking for.
Yet you can find pure, potent ingredients in your kitchen that deliver great skin results and take years off the face without breaking the bank.
Q3. WHY DO YOU BELIEVE THE TERM NATURAL IS OVER USED?
People have come to associate the word natural with healthy and so you see buzzwords like ‘clean’, ‘safe’ and ‘non-toxic’; yet they often have no real basis in fact.
When I refer to the word ‘natural’ I mean getting powerful skin-reviving vitamins and minerals directly from plants and vegetables without chemical preservatives.
Keeping our skin looking and feeling younger in the face of daily exposure to the environmental toxins found in most household products that stress and age skin prematurely is enough of a challenge. We don’t need to apply skincare that feeds the skin more toxins and chemical overload.
Q4. YOU HAVE VERY CLEAR BELIEFS ABOUT WRINKLES. COULD YOU SHARE THAT WITH US?
Wrinkles are a natural part of aging and while we all want to age gracefully we can give grace a helping hand by not waging war on wrinkles, but understanding what they are trying to tell us about our overall health.
Our skin never lies. It will tell us about the stress we are carrying, the water that we are not drinking, the quality of our breathing patterns, our lack of sleep or the vitamins and minerals we are lacking. These will all create skin stress and cause the skin to age prematurely.
Reducing wrinkles or preventing them before they appear is achieved by understanding that great skin comes from de-stressing the skin from everyday stress and toxins and feeding it the right skin building vitamins and minerals. This can be done topically in skincare and through the foods we eat. It can also be supported by the way we breathe and simple lifestyle changes such as incorporating a daily face massage into our skincare routine when applying moisturiser.
But at the end of the day one of the best tips I can give someone is to feel good in their skin and to celebrate the wisdom and clarity that comes with years of life experience.
You are only as old as your self belief, as wise as your words
and as beautiful as the love you hold in your heart.
Q5. HOW DO YOU BALANCE WRITING BOOKS WITH ALL OF THE OTHER THINGS YOU DO?
I am always writing quotes and short passages on planes. This is a great place to capture my thoughts as I sit and watch the clouds and feel inspired by the beauty that nature gives us. However when I am writing a book, I tend to write in concentrated bursts in between my TV schedule and travelling.
So I usually end up doing most of my writing in the Australian countryside surrounded by snoring dogs in the quiet hours of the night. It’s very peaceful and a great balance to the hectic schedule of TV production and the stressful elements that life throws at us.

Gregory Landsman is one of the most noted global beauty and wellness experts in the world, a best selling author of nine books, and a TV host who specializes in using food to take years off the face naturally.
Having worked in the beauty industry for 30+ years Gregory believes that looking youthful goes well beyond waging war on wrinkles, and that how we age is 100% controllable. His natural methods are used globally by models, shown in universities and recommended by doctors.
Often referred to as ‘The Beauty Advisor’, Gregory’s books and global TV program Face Lifting Food show viewers how to create quick skin-boosting meals and powerful skin treatments using everyday foods to achieve younger, healthier looking skin at any age.
Gregory is a strong voice for inclusion. His book, Faith Lifting Prayers is a celebration of humanity and captures his journey of extremes; from Apartheid South Africa to working at the height of the fashion industry, and his fundamental discovery that regardless of what we do, how we look cannot be separated from how we feel. This is why all of his books, even those about looking younger, all feature his own quotes and philosophy about the importance of feeling good in our skin. His book A Lifetime of BEAUTY also shares messages for early teens and middle years about embracing our differences and our individuality; finding happiness; and standing strong in a world that often judges us for the way we look. This book is endorsed for inclusion in the education system.
