It's Me is dedicated to every person who has ever felt less about who they are or want to be because of someone else’s opinion, feelings, or prejudice. Let's ditch the prejudiced labeling, and embrace our Human Race for the diversity, inclusivity, equity, and individuality we all deserve.
This book made quite an impact on me. It’s powerful, empowering, and inclusive, involving people of diverse cultures, ages, belief systems, struggles, and more. It showcases various people who feel overlooked, discounted, or misjudged in some way and their desires to be seen and accepted.
I am moved by each person’s account. It is effortless to empathize with their heartfelt pleas—because don’t we all want to be ourselves and be acknowledged and accepted for our uniqueness?
With candid disclosures and avatar-like illustrations, It’s Me gently elaborates and illuminates many real-life people who desire to be seen, heard, and accepted. Recognizing our differences with a sympathetic heart helps us understand that everyone is flawed, everyone is struggling with something, and everyone desires to be who they are without consequences.

I truly appreciate you sharing your book, It’s Me with us.
- Where do you get your inspiration for your books and stories?
My ideas and inspiration comes from real life and the work I do with other people. I have been working with youth for the past 35 years either in schools, or pools as a coach and I learn so much from them. Our young people are not given enough credit for the intelligence, creativity, uniqueness, and ability they have to change the world.
- What is your next project, if you have one?
Thank you for asking! I am so excited about it. My 12 year old son, Braden is doing the illustrations for a super cool book and curriculum project! Amanda Fox of MetaInk will publish it and it will have components of Augmented Reality and more! Look for it to come out in the summer of 2021!
- Do you have another profession besides writing?
I do! I am an Elementary School educator/administrator in Elk Grove, CA. I have been an administrator in schools for about 10 years in Northern CA. I also taught for 10 years in grades 4, 5 and 6. I was also a swim coach for over 20 years. I love learning, and doing new things, but mostly I try to make the world better for everyone around me.
- What is a favorite travel spot for you?
Hands down, Hawaii. I have been going to the islands for over 50 years now. My amazing parents began taking my sister and I early on. They bought in to some timeshares, and we spent time on several islands, but settled spending most of our time on Maui and Kauai. I am so grateful and blessed that I got to continue the tradition and take my wife and two kids yearly as well. I feel at home there, being in the water for long periods of time; surfing, kayaking, swimming, scuba and snorkeling, and more. It is where my wife and I want to move when my youngest child goes to college.
- What is the most courageous thing you have ever done?
Wow. That is a tough one. I try to reflect and grow, every day and I have done some crazy things. The first thing that comes to mind is that I finally came to grips that I was addicted to alcohol. I have been sober for almost a year now, and it has not only changed my life, but saved it.
