Aʙᴏᴜᴛ ᴛʜᴇ Bᴏᴏᴋ
Harvey the Hippo is a fun and fanciful children’s tale about a hippo who eats too much junk food. He eats and eats and eats until he gets so big, he floats up into the sky, away from the zoo and his family. Though he sees many historical sites, such as the Statue of Liberty, the leaning tower of Pisa, and pyramids of Egypt, he isn’t able to eat anything because he can’t get down. Over several days he begins to slim down and finally floats back to the ground where he started. He decides to eat healthier foods and only snack on sweets and treats in moderation.
The rhyming is fun, and the story communicates that eating well and taking care of our body is important. Readers also get to take a trip around the world that introduces them to many historical sites.
This is an entertaining and educational story. Harvey teaches young readers a valuable lesson in a fun way, and the illustrations are colorful and fun.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through the Beck Valley Book Tours. I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own.
