A Season on the Wind is a sweet Amish romance. (And what a gorgeous title!) Amish fiction isn’t one of my usual genres, but I occasionally venture outside my preferred genres, to visit something fresh and new.
As with previous Suzanne Woods Fischer’s books I’ve read, this one is easy to sink into. I enjoyed the focus on birds and birdwatching. I don’t know a lot about birds, so this was a neat learning opportunity.
The characters are easy to connect with. Ben and Penny are interesting as are as so many others. There’s a handy “Meet the Cast” section in the beginning of the book to familiarize yourself with the characters, as well as a Birder’s Glossary so you can become acquainted with several birder terms used.
I loved the relationships, the gentle Amish setting, and the underlying message of the importance and rewards of faith. A good, sweet, clean read.
Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of this book. My review was not influenced.
