Twin Tales: Alike and Different is sweet tale of twin sisters, Alexia and Denise. These sisters look very much alike on the outside, sharing the same parents, birthdays, facial features, and even a love of ice cream. But on the inside—their likes and dislikes, habits, hobbies, and personalities—are very different.

Twins, especially identical twins, are oftentimes seen as the same person as their sibling. They’re not seen for who they are, but who they look like. But after you get to know them, you realize they are unique individuals beneath the surface. (I’m married to an identical twin and can attest to their numerous likenesses and differences.)

The colorful illustrations are lively and fun, and the narration is easy to read, enjoyable, and descriptive.

Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of this book. My review was not influenced.

What was your inspiration for writing this book?

People always ask what it is like to be twins. We decided to write this book to give people a little             glimpse into our life.

What do you want people to take away from your book?

We hope that people will learn more about twins from our book. Some of our friends do not even know what it means to be twins and they are surprised that we have the same birthday. We hope that reading the book will teach them what it means to be twins and what it is like to be twins.

The two of you are twins and you look a lot alike, do you ever play jokes on people and switch roles?

Yes, sometimes we like to play tricks on people by wearing the same clothes and seeing if they can tell us apart. Most of our family can tell us apart, but our parents say sometimes even they get confused about who is who.

Did anything cool happen while you were writing your book?

Since we are just kids, we needed lots of help from our parents. Even though our parents were helping us, this was our book, so we wanted to do it the way we wanted.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?

We want to travel to another country. We have never been outside of the United States, but we want to get our passports so that we can travel outside of the country.

What do your friends think about you girls being authors?

We haven’t actually told our friends at school. We are going to surprise them and bring a copy of our book to school for show and tell one day.
