“I’m dying, and we can’t change that.”
Even though time-travel isn’t one of my favorite genres, I knew I wanted to read Never Leave Me, Waters of Time #2, after reading the first book in this series (Come Back to Me) last year. Jody Hedlund is a gifted storyteller and I'll read any of her books, no matter what genre she decides to write. She creates such memorable and touching characters and I can visualize the scenes effortlessly.
There was a strong pull inside me rooting for Ellen and Harrison and concerned for the predicaments they faced. And of course, the romance kept me intrigued as well. Although Ellen was a bit difficult for me to fully connect with, Harrison is swoon worthy.
I loved both time periods of this story and find it difficult to pick which I enjoyed most. I really hope there is a third book in this series. A heart pricking and heart warming read. Although this can be read as a standalone, I recommend starting at the beginning of the series to enjoy the full picture.
