First Line: Tears pricked Irelynn Brady's eyes. _____  ❤ _____ R ᴇᴠɪᴇᴡ I love  Love Under Construction , by Penny Zeller! Becoming invested in Irelynn and Quinton and wanting them to find healing and happiness is effortless. I love the plot of two rivals finding common ground to raise two innocent children. It's rare that I read an enemy-to-more story, but this one is so fun and tasteful. The misunderstanding between Irelynn and Quinton is unreasonable, even a bit laughable, but is ultimately the perpetrator of their growth and adds a lot of entertainment.    The name Irelynn is pretty and different, somewhat like her as a person. In the beginning she is hypercritical, tending to only see her side of a story. But it’s evident she has a good heart when she displays thoughtfulness and grit in raising her best friend’s children. The percentage ratings she imposes on her so-called nemesis Quinton and how they decrease as she sheds her blinders are amusing.    Quinton is attracti

Review: Really Woolly: My First Easter (children)

Image
First Line: The birds sing from the tops of trees. Really Woolly: My First Easter  is a uniquely shaped board book with a cut-out handle. The eggs bows, and Easter grass on the cover have a glittery texture. I adore the message, illustrations, and layout. Each turn of the page gives a sweet poem, a corresponding verse, and a one-sentence prayer. The rhyming poems have a lilting cadence, making them fun to read, with titles of:  The Joy of Spring, The Joy of Rain, The Joy of New Beginnings, The Joy of Growing, The Joy of Easter, The Joy of Jesus,  and  The Joy in My Heart.   The book exudes joy and the wonderful blessings during springtime and Easter. The adorable illustrations include a lamb, bunny, and duckling, along with a few friends they meet along the way. The poems capture the uniqueness of Eastertime, with rainbows, rain, blossoms, gardens, and of course the Easter story of the Resurrection. The perfect Easter Basket gift for little ones.   Disclosure: #CoverLoverBookReview
