ABOUT THE BOOK Book Title :   In the Daze of My Youth: A Memoir  by  Joshua Kraushar Category :  Adult Non-Fiction (18+),  160 pages Genre : Non-Fiction, Memoir Publisher :  Mascot Books Release date:   December  2022 Content Rating :  PG-13 + M:  Parts of the book talk about illegal drug use   Book Description: Hello! I’m Josh―and with the exception of friends, family, former colleagues, and students, you don’t know me from Adam. This autobiography is a down-to-earth, intimate memoir of my life, spanning the bulk of the 1950s through 1970s. Since I’m almost seventy now, my life today has zero resemblance to that of the person I’ve written about. The drugs I partake in today, like Lipitor and Flomax, don’t seem to be as much fun as acid and mescaline were many decades ago. Nonetheless, my memories of youth are vivid and amusing. Many of the vignettes that I have incorporated into the book are true-to-life anecdotes that I have related over the years at dinner parties to amuse my fr

Honor's Refuge

MY REVIEW Honor’s Refuge  is  a romantic suspense story that kept me turning pages quickly.    I love when I open a book to read a few pages…perhaps a chapter, and it draws me in so quickly that I just can’t stop. I enjoyed the pacing, the romance, the suspense, and the wonderful characters.   Phil and Missy are easy to connect with. They both have their issues, and by the end of the story they experience so much growth. I empathized with Missy and understood her silent thoughts of wanting him to notice her and her emotions.    The search for her sister was compelling. The themes of family and faith are inspiring and kept my heart completely invested. And the ending…oh my. My heart pounded out of my chest.   First Line:   Missy huddled with three-year-old Lola between the nightstand and the bed, praying her little sister would stay asleep. The Worst Teddy Ever

Image
MY REVIEW The Worst Teddy Ever  is adorable! What a charming little story.    Noa loves Teddy but feels he is just so tired all the time. He doesn’t understand why and thinks he might just be the worst teddy ever. But Teddy is a great teddy, protecting Noa all night long from ghosts, boogey men, tickle monsters and such. He is so tired during the day because he makes sure no visitors bother Noa each night while he’s sleeping.   This story carries a beautiful message in a fun way. Things aren’t always what they appear to be.  The collage-style drawings are cute and fit the story nicely.     First Line:  Noa loves Teddy.  Genre:   Children’s Humor, Sleep Issues Author:   Marcelo Verdad Page Count:   40 Reading Age:   4-8 Content:   Contains a ghost, tickle monster, and boogeyman, but nothing is portrayed to be scary.   Disclosure: #CoverLoverBookReview received a complimentary copy of this book. Outside Nowhere

MY REVIEW In  Outside Nowhere , eleven-year-old Parker is sent to a farm in the middle of nowhere and that’s when magical things begin to happen in his life. It’s a charming middle school coming of age story that I won’t soon forget. It’s rare for me to enjoy a young person’s book this much.   The story contains adventure, witty dialogue, and important life-lessons. It’s a fun read with a charmed nostalgic feel. An adorable book!   First Line:   The pool smelled like chlorine and fruit punch.
